EASTER 2010

A week before Easter the girls colored eggs. Avri was more interested in how stained she could get her fingers:) The girls have always loved doing this and Abi is still amazed at the "magical" crayon she uses and then dips in the colors and her writing then appears!

Ive only gotten to eat one hard boiled egg out of the TWO dozen colored, Ms. Abi LOVES Hard boiled eggs and eats about three a night along with her dinner! Avri doesn't care for them but enjoys peeling them.

EASTER MORNING!

Abi came and woke me up and asked to me to peek in the living room and make sure that the Easter Bunny was gone. She then told me she heard him "chewing" in the middle of the night. She left him a snack, she had wanted to leave carrots, but we chose cookies instead. The bunny didn't seem to mind.
Here's Avri already into the treats in her basket by 7:30 AM. Yes, I let her have chocolate in the morning! Easter is only once a year!

The girls got magformers- and love them!

Posing for the camera before church...

She is soo funny- when I tell her "say cheese".....

Headed to Gma and Papa's (my parents) after church for an Easter dinner.
SUCH A BEAUTIFUL DAY!
Aunt Lorie made the girls baskets filled with goodies!
And the Bunny hid eggs in Gma and Papa's back yard again this year.

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful Easter day! Abi drew a hopscotch and everyone gave it a try.

We even flew butterfly kites at Gma's house.
WOW, DO I ever so need to update the Blog Title Picture. Not just the one of the girls, but my profile pic too- the girls have grown up so much since those were taken. I recently started checking out a few local photographers websites to start thinking about planning a family picture. We are over due. We haven't had them professionally taken since Avri was born.

What have the Tertochas been up to you've asked since no blog updates lately. :)

Well lets see, we have registered Abi for Kindergarten. There was a screening and no surprise she did fantastic. Thank goodness her shyness didn't steer her away from letting all her knowledge shine through! We go one evening in April for a tour, its a new school and Tony nor I have been through it.

Abi is going to be a flower girl in my cousins wedding in June. We have the dress from Davids Bridal and she tried it on and she was just beautiful! Looking forward to the special day!

Avri is working on potty training. She loves "wearing " underwear in the house but come bedtime she doesn't want to give them up- but we aren't anywhere near ready for that yet.

The girls fight more than ever now- (Joy, Joy!). It usually doesn't last long- but its over everything and anything. :)

We've had few nice weather days that we've made some visits to the park. Abi has asked to take her training wheels off of her bike. We will be attempting that this summer. :)

We cant wait to get our camper out of storage- Looking forward to using it this summer!

Avri went roller skating for her first time at her cousins birthday party in Chicago in February. She was a natural- She put those skates on and away she went- like she had done it a thousand times already.

Tony and I recently had some much needed adult time. We went to Peoria for the weekend with 3 other couples. Had a fantastic time, a fabulous dinner at Fishhouse and "donated" some money to Paradice boat.... out of 8 of us- no one walked away a winner. Oh well- getting away and having fun was the main thing- and we most definitely did that!

We finally went to Fuji Steakhouse. We loved the food- the girls enjoyed the "show". As you can see below, First time ever Abi has had chopsticks in her hands and she knew exactly how to eat and ate her dinner with them- very well I might say. On the way home she told Tony and I she knew how to eat with chop sticks because she had seen it on Little Bear. ( so cute!!)
We went with another couple- Valerie and Brad. the girls just adore Valerie.

My parents are home safe from their month and half trip to Florida. We're glad to have them back and they really enjoyed themselves!

And how could I forget, Tony went to Houston and spent a week with our newest nieces, Cameron and Peyton. It was his first visit to Houston since his sister has moved there. Next time I want to go! I can not wait to see the twins! They are so beautiful. It gave Tony "baby fever" when he first got home.....thank goodness that has worn off. :)

Basically we just CAN'T WAIT for SUMMER!

Valerie and I in Tony's Truck on our way to Fish house. ( peoria)

This would be late that night in the back of our our taxi. I really didn't get any good pics from the night, if Valerie has some I will post more. :)

Paci Fairy visits the Tertocha household...

The time had come. It was time for the Paci Fairy to pay us a visit. If your a follower of my blog then you have noticed that there aren't too many times Avri is with out a paci. I know that the paci has been comforting since birth for her, but at 2 yrs and 3 months, its time to give it up, although I'm sure she would disagree. So knowing this was going to be one of the hardest things she has done thus far in her 2 yrs of life, we decided to have her leave them for the paci fairy in hopes the paci fairy would be so kind to make a trade for them. :)
Here is Avri giving it one last moment....

She went through the house and collected them all, and put them all in a shiny blue box. Then she sadly placed them on the front porch. Bedtime wasn't easy this night , or the next, or the next...get my point.:)

And the paci fairy came through! She not only left a trace of her fairy dust all over the front porch, but she left Avri's favorite thing ever- BOOTS! And pink cowboy boots at that, and stickers, candy, jewelry, and a Snow white doll.

She enjoyed all her new things. She is such a sweetheart! Now that the paci is gone we can see that honry, adorable smile always, and hear her talk more clearly.

We love you Avri!

Family time

Tony and I had a small family pizza get-together for Devin the night after his party, and the day before he left. Just a few snapshots from the night.

Devin and his proud mom.

As some of you may know- Devin left as planned on 01-25, however, once he got down to St. Louis with his recruiter, there was some paperwork from his first knee surgery missing. So long story short they sent him back home, and now has to wait until 02-18 to have a consult with the Navy Dr. to be sure he is clear on his knee, and then leave. So we will once again say our goodbyes and wish him luck! :)

Devin's going away party

As Ive mentioned before- my nephew Devin, has joined the Navy and is scheduled to leave next week. There was a party thrown in his honor at Sliders Grill. It was a great time for all ages, and I believe Devin really enjoyed it. I know our girls enjoyed the jukebox music!

Avri taking a rest...cutie!

Kids getting some pool lessons.

When the little ones were ready to go we headed over to gma and papas house for a bit. And the favorite requested book read by Papa before calling it a night!
